 Post subject: Several things about map

Hi all!

there some issues that we want to comment for fixed!

- Redfor spotter only can use a pso! instead blufor can use all sniper weapons. Please check that and try to all specialist appear with similar weapons since begining!

- There different munition for AA and AT in the boxes, that soldiers appears! Also AT when die, appear without munition. Please check this.

- Our pilots said that russians helis respawn doesnt work! Could you check that please?

Other thing, about version maps, I think you cant change or modifie the maps before the battles! If you need to modifiy for any reason, you must to inform what you will change! and when you finish the modifications, is necesary you upload the map for download! We think on thursday, map will be ready for download, and then will be not possible to change nothing, We have a map pack, its this the final map pack?!

About lag, there was a lot of lag, I dont blame you! But you must think about scenary, maybe we need to sacrifice urban combat for smooth combat, so big cities are not a good place to have a battle in arma2 maps! Dont you think?

I understand your doubts but as you know the game itself is not 100% reliable.
All scripts have been tested for months, you know that, all of them have been proven to work properly, unfortunately for some reason not clear to us sometime the game itself behaves in unpredictable ways, just to stress the concept even more, we had several issues even with non scripted features, the only hope is BIS will make it more reliable so that code works in a logical way without random problems.

anyway are you sure it was our spotter? you had no space bar scanning nor death message to properly identify him, are you sure it was not our sniper? they both wear ghillie.

about last minute changes, you're totally correct, I was just asked to add a smoke grenade to crews and did it.

as for any other issue such as number of players or locations I leave this to other people, my task is to write code, it's up to others to decide if the quality of the game is satisfying, as for me I only suffered two very light episodes of lag and I play on a very low spec machine so it's arguable how much lag was due to the server.

On the battle itself last night, a lot of Opfor choppers were found on the ground!. Maybe it is because the pilots ditched them and didn't bother to destroy them so they could respawn. I could be wrong however.

Also i dont think the city maps caused it, i noticed that several people joined with mods which can cause quite a bit of lag. The city itself shouldn't cause any lag as it is built into the main coding so it shouldn't have generate any lag itself.
One likely reason is that the server was going through a tough time, it took us an hour to start in the first place. If the server was under stress. then it would create a lot of lag in the game so the likelyhood of it causing lag is likely.

Well about server I did restart the machine to avoid troubles so that was not the issue

About addons, ppl with addons could not join because of signature verification ON

And lastly, we tried the maps before several times

About change of version, as Lupo says the changes were minor fixes like the green grenade for crewmen, no substantial changes

The funny thing is we tested the maps before and now I loaded the maps causing troubles yesterday and they work pretty fine in my hands

I left them on server for your scrutiny, they are marked a and b, you can try if you like

so what was the issue yesterday? I do not have any answer right now

For the next battles, I will put a rule that if for any reason the start is delayed more than one hour the battle is automatically suspended and postponed the next week

see you in battles!
