A tragic accident in Utes istigates the Chernarus war
This is to communicate officially that the ATC2 war will start on Tuesday October 27th at 20.30 UTC (GMT/zulu) with a tragic accident in the island of Utes involving US and Russians peacekeepers Here the last dispatch from our war correspondant in Utes
A tragic accident on the island of Utes will determine the beginning of the war in Chernarus between the US and Russian armies
The
critical situation in Chernarus in spring 2009 ended up with political
elections in the autumn. The elections were won by a hairsbreadth by
the moderate pro-Russian parties. The suspect of gerrymandering and
reciprocal accusations led again the country into chaos and once again
a large amount of weapons cropped up from the extremist militias
hideouts.
Trying to regain political control over this
strategical region, the USA ordered their troops displaced in the area
to invade it again, but Russia, taking advantage of the election
outcome and firmly determined to maintain the political and military
control over the area did not repeat the mistake of just a few months
before and mobilized its troops as well. As a consequence the country
was divided in practice into two halves, the pro-western and the
pro-russian area. The United Nation Council had to tacitally
acknowledge the situation and USA and Russians peacekeepers were sent
in Chernarus.
However, the skirmishes between the CDF (the
Chernarus regular Army, controlling the south-west part of the country)
and the Chedaki militias of the ChDKZ, backed tacitally by Russians in
the North-East, continued
On October 27th a tragic accident in the
island of Utes occurred. The Chedaki militias attacked the airport
under the control of the CDF. The battle tragically involved the
peacekeepers which were attacked and had to return fire ..
Since
now the regular armies of USA and Russia never faced on field, they
will after this tragic accident on the small island of Utes..

local time is 20.30 BST for UK
21.30 CEST for Spain Italy France
and 22.30 EEST for Greece
US based clans please make their calculations as they are spanning different time zones
The briefing will be half an hour ahead, that is 19.00 UTC (zulu), 21.00 CEST , 20.00 BST, 22.00 EEST ..
Squad Leaders please be in time so we can accomodate TS slots and brief
We hope we can enjoy and fix all technical issues
To prevent ppl entering the server with mods/addons that may cause server crashes, the server config will be with signature verification, so please make sure you have the plain arma2 game and check your connection in advance
About Factions, it is time to strenghten alliances and make the definitive factions, so Clan representatives please tell the staff if you are satisfied with the provisional alliances or you have any preference/request, we will try to meet your preferences as far as possible
The side will be decided by an out-of-context battle, the winner faction will have the right to decide the side

 We welcome our first US-based Clan, the 7th Cavalry Regiment! And the BW Clan! We are very proud of this community!
As ATC V2 becomes intercontinental, it is time for soldiers to clean their weapons and grab their gear!!
The first general test is scheduled for Thursday Sept. 24th at 21.30 CEST (20.30 BST; 19.30 UTC/GMT/zulu)
The meeting will be at 21.00 CEST (19.00 UTC/GMT/zulu) for briefing and accomodating in slots in the ATC TS

Applications for ATC V2 ends tomorrow 15-sept-2009 at 24:00 +1GMT.
From that time the enlist forums will be deactivated to prevent more applications. All class must inform ATC staff his minimun task force for the war to reserve the correct numbers of slots per clan. We want to give thanks to everyone for the smooth and the communication of the members with the Staff, as a result everything went smooth and clear.
